when i originally created an imvu i thought you had to be 18.
so on my main account, i put my brothers birth year, instead of my own.
which is 5 years older than my real age.
do you think if i filed a help ticket and explained to imvu what happen, they would change it for me?
im really only 17. (i turn 18 in a month)
i just dont want my account to be disabled. :/

File a help ticket.
IMVU will change your age for you but they will ask for you to verify your age by sending them something such as a copy of birth certificate or ID.
It is against the rules to say your an adult when you are a minor on IMVU so you will want to be the one to tell IMVU and get it worked out. Even if you turn 18 in a month you have now posted this in which case anyone could report you now. So make sure you file a help ticket so that IMVU sees you were trying to do the right thing.
They will end up disabling your account for like 24 hours or less while they change the age but then it will be back up with the right age.

That should be fine. If they need anything else they will ask for it. From what I've heard from those that have had to do this IMVU is pretty understanding and they fix it as soon as they can when some one is open about it and comes forward themselves about it.

Don't worry about it. IMVU knows that many people lie about their age. So when people come forward wishing to fix it I'm sure they are happy to find some one honest.
Just remember that they might disable the account for like 24 hours to fix the age. So don't freak out if you go to sign on and get told the account is disable. Hopefully you will get a message to the help ticket telling you that it is going to happen before it does but I know CS messages don't always make sense.

I had the wrong age on this account too as it was off somehow by about six months, so I contacted IMVU to tell them this and ask for a correction and although they disabled my account for a few days, they enabled it back once the age was adjusted correctly.
So don't worry, I've been through this and as you can see, I'm still here!

The TOS states that you must not "Misrepresent your age in a manner that, if you are an adult makes you appear to be a minor or, if you are a minor, is anything but your actual age." ... so it looks like you get to be 21 again ;)

You said it so much clearer than the TOS does ... maybe imvu could pay you to rewrite it so there are less misunderstandings  rofl
